Jane Fenton is one of Britain’s most versatile and respected cellists. In addition to her solo career, Fenton has served as Solo Cellist and Principal Cellist with Ballet Rambert, Glyndeboune and Garsington Opera Orchestras, contributing her artistry to both classical and contemporary works.

Mirror of the Soul Yearning is a moving and introspective piece for string orchestra featuring acclaimed cellist, Jane Fenton. The release marks another milestone in the longstanding creative partnership between McEvoy and Fenton—a musical dialogue rooted in shared artistic sensibilities and a deep mutual respect. Fenton has been a featured soloist on many of McEvoy’s notable solo projects and scores, including album Terra Cognita, the ITV mini-series Dark Angel (starring Joanne Froggatt), and the Peabody Award-winning documentary The Jazz Ambassadors.

This soulful live orchestral production brims with classic '60s and ‘70s Latin-jazz vibes. Featuring drummer, Richard Bailey and the horn and woodwinds of Latin-jazz band, Trypl (Paul Booth, Trevor Mires, Ryan Quigley), the song is produced and arranged by Michael who also performs keyboards, guitars, bass and vocals with backing vocal support from Jasmine Duxbury.

This double A side features legendary American guitarist Duke Levine (Pete Wolf and the Midnight Travelers, Mary Chapin Carpenter).
The second track, Vortex of Unknowing, with its lush Latino overtone, features Humberto Pena on lead vocals, accompanied by Antonia Courcier (soprano) and Sunny Pena Courcier (sax).

The soundtrack features Mark Mondesir (drums), Karl Rasheed Abel (bass), Freddie Gavita, Tom Walsh, Kevin Robinson (trumpet), Paul Booth, Graeme Blevins, Patrick Clahar (sax) and Fayyaz Virji and Dennis Rollins (trombone).
