In October 2004, Michael completed the Masters Degree in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music, London where he was the PRS Sir Arthur Bliss Scholar. He was awarded the prestigious Joseph Horovitz Prize for Composition for Screen - the first time this award has been given since 2001.
